Cultural Support Program 2026/2027

The Society is committed to supporting Tribe members’ participation in cultural events such as Powwows, ceremonial dances, and other traditional gatherings, as well as providing reimbursement for food costs for hosting traditional gatherings of their own such as memorials.

Memorial costs are only available for memorials between 1 to 4 years.

Program available from May 1, 2026 until February 26, 2027 or until funding is no longer available

You can pick one of the following options for a Maximum of $250
- Travel to Powwow, Rodeo, or Memorial/Cultural celebration
  Application must list the names of the travellers, travel dates, and destination. This information will be used to determine eligibility and calculate mileage for reimbursement, where applicable. Direct Route travel will be used for calculation. Please provide any fuel receipts for this trip.
- Rental vehicle
  Cost of the rental vehicle may be reimbursed with submission of a valid receipt.
- Powwow, Rodeo or Ceremony Accommodation
  Reimbursements for accommodations will only be processed after receipts are reviewed and approved by the Society. Application must list the names of the travellers, travel dates, and destination.
- Hosting a Memorial
  Receipt as proof of purchase for the food provided at the gathering, completed by debit, credit or cash.
  -Receipt can be submitted before or after the traditional gathering, if it is after the gathering, receipts should be submitted no later than 2 weeks after.
