Good Neighbour 
Housing Support Program

This Program is to help make your home a safer place for you and your family. At this time you can apply for one of the following supports. Please read the descriptions below and email us if you have any further questions.

Fencing 

  • New install or repair of old fence. Must include images of before and after for funding to be paid.

    • The Quote must be for a wood or chain link fence; ​staining or painting services, or any finishing services. Decorative pieces do not qualify

      • Fencing must be at least 48” high and under 72” high.

      • One gate, 36” or less can be included in the cost.

      • Must provide two quotes by certified contractors

      • Society will pay the contractor directly once services are completed up to $3000.

      • Fencing must not restrict access for emergency services

      • Barb wire fencing can be submitted with the same quote allowances for up to $3000 – Yard sites only; no commercial property

        • Yard gates install are allowed with permission from security.​

Landscaping and Yard Clean up

  • Gravel services – Driveways only -$500

    • Delivery of gravel to property

    • Require a quote before proceeding

    • Before and after pictures are required 

  • Yard Clean-up – $500

    • Scrap and junk removal only

    • Must submit before and after pictures

    • Receipt must be submitted – We will pay the housing member back rather than vendor direct for this service.

Lighting

  • Exterior lighting - $250 per fixture for up to $1000

    • Install of lighting on your home or replacing exterior light fixtures

    • Two quotes to be provided and done by certified electricians

    • Lighting must be

      • Motion sensors

      • LED

      • Black or White only

    • New Lights may be installed with housings permission. This must be in writing and submitted with the quote provided

      • All electrical must be completed by a certified electrician and two quotes must be provided

Individual Exterior Security Cameras

  • Security camera – up to $500 plus per year in services or new devices – Must submit a copy of your bill to be reimbursed

  • Cameras must be for the exterior only.​

  • If you purchase off Amazon and do not have an ongoing security subscription your invoice must be submitted after you purchase the item

  • Any permanent cameras must be approved by housing and Security

  • Any camera footage that is requested by Louis Bull Security or RCMP must be provided. If not; funding will be declined and no longer available for the house in question. 

Good Neighbour Program

This Program is available for Nation owned homes only. Due to funding restrictions please only apply for one Good Neighbour support per home this fiscal year. The program will run starting May 2026 until February 28 2027, or until funding is no longer available.

Payments will be made direct to contractors unless approved by the Executive Director. All payments are electronic there will be no cash or checks distributed. Please allow a minimum of 60 Days for application review and payment distribution. Payments will not be completed until all required information is provided.


Please note applications must be completed by the individual registered living in the home


Fencing

Individual Housing Security

-        Security camera – up to $500 plus per year in services or new devices – Must submit a copy of your bill to be reimbursed - This is only available while the program is offered. Any on-going contracts are not the obligation of the Bear Hills Casino Society. Funding is not guaranteed year to year


o   If you purchase off Amazon and do not have an ongoing security subscription your invoice must be submitted

Dog Run for outside use

This can be purchased by the home owner and reimbursed by the Society - The maximum is $600 and the receipt must be submitted along with images or the before and after. The receipts must be from January 2026 or later
