Good Neighbour Program 2026/2027
May 1st 2026 to December 15, 2027 or Until Funding is no longer available.
This program is available to Nation Owned homes only.
Work must be completed between April 1 2026 and February 26, 2027. Program payments will be completed by March 31 2027.

The home owner must be the registered resident with the Louis Bull Tribe.
Any work done through this program is considered to be owned by the Louis Bull Tribe and must stay with the property unless otherwise approved by BHCS & Louis Bull Tribe Housing.​

This program is to help address Community Safety and is not for any commercial or agricultural purposes.

You Can Apply For One of The Following
Fencing - community safety and housing

New install or repair old fence. Must include images of before and after for funding to be paid.

Will only pay for wood fencing or chain-link fencing.

Will not fund staining or painting services, or any finishing services. Decorative pieces do not qualify
-
Fencing must be at least 48” high and under 72” high.

One gate, 36” or less can be included in the cost.

Must provide one quote by certified and insured contractors
-
Society will pay the contractor directly once services are completed up to $3000 if the contractor agrees. BHCS will reach out to the contractor to ensure this is possible.

Fencing must not restrict access for emergency services

Yard gates are allowed with permission from security.

Landscaping and Yard Clean up

Gravel services – Driveways only -$500

Receipt must be provided and job must be complete for payment to be reimbursed.

Lighting
-
Exterior lighting - $250 per fixture for up to $1000

Install of lighting on buildings or replacing exterior light fixtures

New Lights may be installed with housings permission.

All electrical must be completed by a certified electrician and one quote must be provided. All quotes and receipts must be provided by an insured Company.

Individual Housing Security
-
Security camera – up to $500 plus per year in services or new devices – Must submit a copy of your bill to be reimbursed

If you purchase off Amazon and do not have an ongoing security subscription your invoice must be submitted

Any permanent cameras must be approved by housing and Security

Any camera footage that is requested by Louis Bull Security or RCMP must be provided. If not; funding will be declined and no longer available for the house in question.
Dog Run

$650 metal dog run – Tribe member to purchase and be reimbursed with a full receipt provided.. The dog run must be a minimum of 24 SQFT. Payment must be made with debit, credit or cash. Picture of the run on the property must be provided.
What Else Do You Need to Know
This Program may require more paperwork than the initial application. Please be advised that we will work with you through out the process; but the homeowner is responsible for providing any required information to the BHCS.

You Must be in good standing with the Louis Bull Tribe Housing Department to qualify for this program. All installations and approvals are decided by the Louis Bull Housing Department and will be reviewed by them before approvals and payments are made.
BHCS will work with Louis Bull Housing Department for approvals; the homeowner is not to contact housing for these applications unless directed.

All work done for these applications are to be managed by the homeowner. BHCS does not hold any responsibility to any of the homes that work is completed on. Louis Bull Housing Department and Bear Hills Casino Society do not hold any liability for the improvements made on the homes and any cost to repair extra expenses or newly occuring repairs that occur during the project completion are at the cost of the applicant.
BHCS Will not accept extra changes on top of already approved invoices. Any project changes or increases are at the cost of the applicant.
